It was a very windy night …. I think I was rocked to sleep. There were some people camping, apparently their night was “interesting” and they did look a bit tired this morning. It was a gorgeous morning and Ernie and I headed out for a stroll to find the man to pay for the campsite

We packed the van up and set off. The sat nav said approx 3 hours and we wanted to be at the site in time to hopefully get a shore side pitch
The drive up to Bunree (south of Fort William) was good. The worst bit was on the bonny Bonny banks of Loch Lomond where the roads were narrow and windy and vehicles coming in the opposite direction were not good at keeping to their side of the road. There was lots of opportunity for waving at motorhome drivers, especially as the radio reception was poor, have you ever tried doing Popmaster when you can only hear part of the question. The scenery was lovely

We were heading for Bunree Caravan and Motorhome club site. We resisted the chance to have a lovely stop at Glen Coe to get to the site to try and get a good pitch. It was worth the 40 minute wait for the wardens to let us in.

We haven’t even properly started the NC500 yet but this place is stunning! Lots of friendly people on the site. A lady said “hello beautiful” to me, or Ernie…. I’ll let you decide what she meant.
After a little rest we decided to have a walk out for a beer. Nearest pub was only a ferry ride away. It was about a mile walk to the ferry. Free for paw and foot passengers. We had a stroll to see the light house and then to the pub. A quick, tasty but expensive beer and we got the ferry back. We couldn’t resist the chance of sitting by the van looking at the view. Lovely!
