Day 4….. sunshine before a rainy day

Ernie and I were up early this morning so went out for a little run to see Applecross in the quiet of early morning. It was gorgeous

Shore street in Applecross…. The only street

On the way back I sat looking at the bay and got chatting to the blokes operating the bacon sandwich place. Sadly they had no hot chocolate so I headed back to the van to collect Pat and a sachet of hot chocolate. What an absolute treat, an awesome sandwich in and even better location

The plan for the day was to do a big walk. An 11 mile round trip with an amazing up and over the top of the hill to a sandy bay imaginatively named Sand and then back along the coastal road. What a stunning walk on a stunning day (sorry for a lot of photos)

We eventually made it back to Applecross for an ice cream. Very well deserved. Then back to the campsite for a well earned shower and rest.

Deep in thought about the joy of ice cream

After a lovely shower and rest we headed to the wonderful Applecross Inn for our evening meal. Fresh sea food…. Superb…. My langoustines had only swum ashore under an hour before we arrived. Pat’s scallops were soooo tasty. Just wonderful.

The pub has a photo of part of the scary road from yesterday…..

The forecast is really bad for tomorrow….. hopefully our journey will be ok.
