Day 8…. In and around Clachtoll

Last night we went up to the campsite fire pit and had a a couple of drinks and some nice chats with people. This really is a special campsite

Today we spent the surprisingly nice morning having a wander along the coast, it is so dramatic. The photos really don’t do it justice …. But here are some anyway

It’s easy for Ernie
Lovely ravine ….

After a lovely walk we headed back to the dog bar at the camspite. We sat in the sun and chatted to people. One women had fallen in a bog on a recent walk. Scary.

My dog’s got no nose….

We then wandered a bit further and took more photos and then went to Flossie’s for lunch

On the way back to the camspite we got chatting to the owner. He suggested we went so see a local Bothy and let him know what we thought of it. Ernie and I set off to see it while Pat sorted a few things in the van. We weren’t quite ready for what was inside. Ernie was not impressed

The Bothy
Not quite what we were expecting!

In the corner of the room was a cupboard with a sign on ….

Ernie and I were a bit scared to open it so we FaceTimed Pat….. bravely we opened it….

😂

It really is a wonderful quirky place and we will be sad to leave. Rain and wind are due soon so it will be an evening of whale watching from the van window. Our new friend explorer Bill, that we met yesterday, told us that a knock on effect of avian flu is that whales and dolphins are coming a lot closer to shore and there have been lots of sightings.

Off on our travels tomorrow.
